Running Injury Clinic Services
Due to the repetitive overuse nature of many running injuries, there are rarely "quick fixes" or "miracle exercises" that will cure or resolve your injury. Because of this, Sudbury Running Physio provides a comprehensive physiotherapy assessment including taking a full past medical history and completing a biomechanical, strength and gait assessment to determine the cause and source of your injury. Our assessment generally lasts up to 60 minutes.
Part of our assessment includes completing a slo-motion video gait analysis of your running stride. This provides immediate feedback and assists in determining proper footwear and/or abnormalities in your gait cycle that may be contributing to your injury or potentially lead to injury in the future.
A cornerstone in the rehabilitation of running injuries is correcting improper movement patterns and muscle imbalances through a committment to a specific active home exercise routine. Sudbury Running Physio will guide you through this process and work with you to fine-tune the program based on your response and level of improvement.
Often, additional services are required to assist in the rehabilitation of a running related injury. Due to our experience in treating runners and their injuries, we can connect you with other healthcare professionals with expertise in treating runners including massage therapists and chiropodists with expertise in custom foot orthotic fabrication.
Our ultimate goal is to educate you on your injury, develop a plan to prevent it from re-occurring and to get you back running!
